As hardware costs fall and connectivity becomes more reliable, wireless sensors are becoming the standard for industrial monitoring. This article examines current trends: the use of edge computing for local data processing, the security of wireless communication, and the use of AI for predictive analytics.
Current challenges (interference, energy autonomy, cybersecurity) are also discussed and how they can be overcome through intelligent system design. The example of a factory that reduced unplanned downtime by 30% following IoT-based digitalization strengthens the argument.
